INDER BIR SINGH PASSI

Inder Bir Singh Passi (20.08.1939 – 2.10.2021).

  • Manoj Yadav, Harish-Chandra Research Institute (Allahabad, India)

Title: «Wells’ exact sequence for various algebraic structures»

Abstract: In 1971, Charles Wells invented a 4-term fundamental exact sequence relating automorphisms and second cohomology group of group extensions. Since then the sequence has been extensively studied and reformulated by various mathematicians in many different contexts. It is planned to exhibit Wells exact sequence for skew braces, and include many other such investigation for various algebraic structures, namely, Lie algebras, Lie rings, quandles etc. In case of abelian group extensions, the Wells sequence was explored (to put it in a more usable form) by  IBS Passi jointly with Mahender Singh and myself. The talk is dedicated to Prof. Passi in his loving memory.

  • Gurmeet Bakshi, Panjab University (Chandigarh, India)

Title: TBA

  • Dr. Mahender Singh, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (Mohali, India)
